A bit about me and the journey that’s led me here.

My name is Kate and I am the proud owner of two very different and successful businesses. My career has spanned over 22 years, in both the corporate and small business worlds, and my journey has made me the resilient, strong, confident woman I am today. I adore sales, I am passionate about supporting women in business, I thrive in a negotiation, I love public speaking but most importantly I’m fearless in the pursuit of happiness.

My career began with a Bachelor of Business degree in hand and an open mind as to what the corporate world had in store for me. Following a range of fun and exciting marketing roles at Phillips, MGM Home Entertainment and Foxtel, my passion and interest in sales really took hold and I began exploring more commercial roles including sponsorship sales.

I continued moving up the ladder in general management positions for companies such as Sydney FC, Choice, AC Agency, Foxtel (again – this time as General Manager of 5 entertainment channels) and my final corporate job was as Head of Sponsorship and Marketing at TEG (Ticketek Entertainment Group).

In late 2017, I decided it was finally time to spread my wings and leap into the world of entrepreneurship. I sold two investment properties to fund the next chapter of my life and in January 2018 Cloud Nine Global was born. The business was initially both B2C and B2B but by early 2020 the focus had shifted completely to corporate events and travel. In March 2020, being a travel and event focused business, we lost our entire sales pipeline and contact base and spent the next two years ensuring the business not only survived but thrived. With a repositioning of the business in early 2021, the business is now absolutely flourishing with a broader, stronger position in market and a solid foundation for success.

Together with Cloud Nine Global, I also launched a consulting business primarily targeted at business strategy, development and growth. Today my business services involve both consulting for SMB’s and coaching business owners to make their business more profitable. It is incredibly satisfying work and I am so proud of the position both of my businesses are in today.

Throughout the years there have been some very stressful periods, as the freedom of owning your own business comes with heavy responsibility and usually a lot of stress, but the underlying theme for me has been a fierce determination to succeed and never give up. I think knowledge, experience and skills will get you so far in business but I truly believe that passion, perseverance and belief will get you to that next level.

I am so proud of everything I have achieved, and have big plans around what I want to achieve in the future. The journey has been an exciting roller coaster so far, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
