Are you investing in female leadership in 2024?
Did you know, in Australia:
- Women make up 51% of the workforce
- 22% of CEO’s are women
- 34% of board members are women
- 1 in 4 boards have no women; and just 25% of boards have gender-balanced boards
In good news, many Australian businesses now know they need to make changes towards gender balance in leadership, setting targets and prioritising actions. There are SO many benefits for businesses able to achieve this, with the most important for many, being a measurable and definable increase to their revenue and profitability*.
BUT – don’t just leap into action to ‘’tick boxes’’ and place women in roles they aren’t ready or prepared for. Effective leadership requires skills, training and confidence so you must ensure that your team are qualified and ready for any leadership role you offer them, and have the best chance of succeeding.
Here are some steps you can take towards increase the number of female leaders in your business:
1. Set targets and share them with all of your employers so they can see it is a priority.
2. Create an action plan for the year with milestones and targets and ensure your leadership team buys into the plan and helps action it effectively.
3. Invest in your team, especially early in their careers, as there are so many fantastic training programs and courses available.
I created ‘’Step Up’’ as I am incredibly passionate about creating more future female leaders. My program is tailored, actionable, and guaranteed to give women the skills, confidence and a tangible plan to inspire them to become future leaders.
